BE F1RST’s mission is to represent, validate and graduate first-generation students as they navigate higher education. 

We achieve our mission by keeping it R.E.A.L. and following our core values:

Relationships – BE F1RST accomplishes it’s mission by focusing on creating lifelong, mutually beneficial relationships with first-generation students and their families.  

Equity & Inclusion- Equity and Inclusion are the foundation of the work we do because they ensure we are putting the needs of our students and families first.  

Active Accomplice-The first-generation journey can be challenging and purposeful action and activism is needed as we facilitate that journey.  

Life Long Learners-We model the love for education and the belief that education breaks the cycle and has a positive impact on first-generation students, families, and communities.
