Wamego Community Garden Fund
The Wamego Community Garden is a thriving hub where residents come together to learn, grow, and share healthy, organic food. Established in 2014, the garden expanded into a two-acre permaculture food forest with a shade shelter, greenhouse, and rain gardens. It serves as both an educational space and a place for members to grow food for themselves and their families while donating surplus to local food banks. Their members can access various crops, including tomatoes, peppers, squash, berries, fruit trees, and more. With over 11,000 pounds of food donated to the community annually, the garden is an essential resource for healthy living in Wamego.
To continue their mission of providing fresh food and educational opportunities, they seek donations to help maintain the garden, purchase essential equipment such as tools and irrigation supplies, and ensure the upkeep of the facilities. Support will help keep the garden running year-round, providing sustainable food and hands-on learning for all community members.
