John Wayne Randle

John Wayne Randle, 68, Wamego, KS passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Stormont Vail Health Center in Topeka, KS.

On July 4, 1949 John was born to Gordon and Marvella (Combs) Randle in Wichita, KS.  After graduating from Byers High School in Pratt County, KS in 1967, John attended Pratt Community College.  He was united in marriage with JoLane “Jody” (Karst) Simmer on February 24, 1992 in Miami, OK.  She survives of the home.

John was a collector of many things, including coins and model cars, and enjoyed wood working.  He loved being around his grandchildren and had a passion working as a first responder and EMT for the Wamego Fire Department.   He is also survived by two step-children, Kendra Sexe (Edward), Prior Lake, MN, and Rod Simmer (Cherie), Wamego, KS; three sisters, Ellen Rolo (Les), Iuka, KS, Elaine Shanks (Cleo), Sedro-Woolley, WA, and Eileen Rolo (Barry), Lubbock, TX; four grandchildren, Trevor Simmer, Collin Simmer, MacKenzie Sexe, and Luke Sexe; one great-grandchild, Logan Simmer; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, and a niece, Sherry Rolo.

Funeral services for John will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Wamego Middle School (1701 Kaw Valley Rd.).  A visitation will be Friday, January 5th from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Stewart Funeral Home.  A private burial will be held in the Iuka Cemetery near Pratt, KS.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Wamego Firefighters Auxiliary, and may be left in care of Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, PO Box 48, 66547.
